Day 9 – Venice, Italy
The Most Beautiful City in the World
Venice is a stunningly beautiful city that evokes romance and mystery! The canals are like poetry in motion.
It’s impossible for me to focus my camera on one subject at a time. Venice is a photographer’s dream!
After our included city tour, seven of us agree to share in the cost to take two gondolas on our own. It would cost us 18 Euros each for a 30 minute ride.
Our gondolier explained to us that his father passed the trade on to him and he in turn will pass it on to his sons. It’s a family tradition. As we glided down the narrow canals he points out some historical sites such as the bridge of “sigh” and the smallest bridge in Venice. We see the city from a different perspective. This was so cool!
There are charming buildings and interesting subjects that line the canals as we move through them. Next, we decide to sit at a restaurant and have lunch. We bump into some of our other tour mates. It was a very good meal enjoyed with great company! Most of us enjoyed some pizza and others had pasta.
After lunch, we decide to head to San Marco square to sit, drink a nice cup of cappuccino and enjoy some classical music.
This was one of my most favorite moments of the trip. The weather was warm and sunny. We sat here for as long as we could to soak in the experience. It was a perfect day!
