Is this Real or is this Memorex?
Today, we leave Paris and cross the border into Switzerland. Switzerland is breathtaking! Our hotel is located in a small town called Fluelen, which is a 45 minute train ride away from Lucerne. Our room was on the 1rst floor (2nd floor by American definition) and faced this gorgeous lake that lay in the shadows of the Swiss Alps. It was very beautiful. Our hotel is more of a B&B and sits quietly near the edge of a beautiful lake.
After unpacking a few items we head down to the dinner room where we are treated to our second inclusive dinner. It was chicken with a mixed steamed vegetable dish. Our desert was ice cream with the Swiss Flag printed on the top for decoration. It was delicious.
After dinner we decide to take a walk up this hill to visit a church. When we reached the top we could see in the dark distance a glimpse of the white covered mountains.
We bump into some tour mates and they tell us to go down the stairs under this ramp and we’ll come out to the other side near the lake. We take a few pictures along the way. Let me just preface this next part by saying that I was a little tired from the bus ride, it was dark and the lake was so clear and clean. I saw my friend walking down the steps towards the lake and I warned her to be careful and for what ever reason I walked right pass her and onto the next steps.
The problem is that the next steps were completely submerged in the lake. I went both feet completely in the lake. I some how held onto my camera but the little flash light I was holding fell right in. We were in complete stitches from laughing so hard. Well, after I swore my friend to complete secrecy we decide to walk quickly back to our hotel. It was so quiet we could hear the “sloshing” noise that my wet shoes were making. When we get to our room we each take one shoe and began to blow dry them. We were still cracking up and thought that maybe we woke our neighbors. Let’s just say this episode made my most embarrassing list for 2005.
After drying my shoes, we decide to take a shower and go to bed. It’s once again nearly midnight.
