2013 Peruvian Travel Adventures: dos soles

With a little over 2 weeks before I leave for my 2013 Peruvian Adventures, I worked a bit more on my trip over the weekend.  I have all my lodgings confirmed, at least one of the two days entrance tickets to Machu Picchu purchased (still haven’t been able to successfully purchase the tickets for the […]

Camino de Santiago: Words, Thoughts, Pictures, Action . . .

So lately, I’ve been feeling a need to document every tiny step I take to prepare for my Camino de Santiago, but I didn’t want to break my tradition of only blogging on my main blog once I purchase my airline tickets for a trip.  I tried posting on my other sites like google plus […]

Starting over . . .

Starting over . . .

Cusco, Ollantaytambo, Machu Picchu, the Incas, Pisac, Wayna Picchu, Chicheria, Sacred Valley, Peru Rail, Plaza de Armas, llamas . . . . and the list goes on!  It’s all new, it’s all interesting and it’s all good!  Getting a buzz from the excitement of starting all over again!

Inspired and ready to start planning . . .

Whoo Hoo!  I’ve decided (record time) that I want to go to Lisbon, Portugal this year!  And with 3 weeks vacation time, I may try to squeeze in a trip to Spain, specifically Santiago de Compostela, Spain.  I am so freaking excited!  Let the planning begin!

Reality thinking . . .

Reality thinking . . .

Spent several minutes on Kayak to check out flights and prices to see how many sack lunches I need to bring to work in order to save up for my next trip.  Honestly, I had no idea that traveling to Africa would take 24 hours (not including layover times). Dang! I may have to rethink […]

Travel Thoughts: Peaks and Valleys ....

Travel Thoughts: Peaks and Valleys . . .

Do you get pre-trip jitters?  If not, you’re a far better traveler than I. I am now a little more than 5 weeks away from my first South America Adventures and although I’ve done a lot of preparation work, I don’t feel ready. And it is this lack of confidence that gives me these “valley” […]

It’s Not Low, but High this time around . . .

First, let me just say that I’m so excited to be traveling to a different continent other than Europe this year.  It almost feels like I’m starting from scratch again.  So many unknowns and so much learning. I’m really surprised to be starting my trip planning so early in the year.  I usually start trip […]

Buenos Aires, Argentina . . .

Buenos Aires, Argentina . . .

With a population of 12 million people, Buenos Aires is the second largest metropolitan city in South America.  The people who are born and live here are called porteños (people of the port) and are of Spanish and Italian descent.  It’s no wonder I was attracted.   They say that Buenos Aires is the Paris of […]

Argentine Tango . . .

Argentine Tango . . .

Here’s a street performance of a couple dancing the famous Argentine Tango.  It is one of the best street performances I’ve seen on Youtube.  Much like my trip to Seville, Spain in 2008, I would love to be able to see a performance of an Argentine Tango.  After all, this famous dance originated at the […]

If only I could fly . . .

If only I could fly . . .

From Los Angeles to Buenos Aires, Argentina the airfare is hovering at $1,300.  To go from Buenos Aires to Iguazu Falls, the airfare is hovering at $430.  Maybe it was wishful thinking on my part but for some reason, I actually thought that my airfare being that I won’t be crossing the North Atlantic […]
